Solitary Fibrous Tumor of the Ischiorectal Fossa : CT and MRI Findings
نویسندگان
چکیده
Solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) is a mesenchymal cell origin that usually occur in the pleura, but the presence of these tumors are currently reported in a variety of extrapleural sites, including retroperitoneum (1-6). Because of the rarity of SFTs, information on the imaging features is sparse, and the radiologic features of SFT occurred in the ischiorectal fossa have been rarely reported. In this case, we describe the CT and MRI findings in a case of a SFT that involved in the ischiorectal fossa. Case Report

FDG-PET/CT and CT findings of a benign solitary fibrous tumor of the kidney: correlation with pathology
Herein, we report the F-18 fluorodeoxyglucose (18F-FDG) positron emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) findings of a benign solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) of the kidney. The patient was a 63-year-old woman with a mass in the right kidney (10×9.7 cm), incidentally found on CT images. The CT scan showed a lobulated tumor arising from the hilum of the right kidney. The tumor consisted o...
متن کاملSolitary Fibrous Tumor of the Parotid Gland: A Case Report
Introduction: Solitary fibrous tumor is a rare, mesenchymal neoplasm that has been reported in numerous sites. Occurrence in the parotid gland is exceedingly rare. Case Report: A 53-year-old man with a 2 cm solitary fibrous tumor of the left parotid gland, that was observed clinically and operatively and thought to be a neoplasm arising from Stensen's duct, is described. A pre-operative CT sc...
متن کاملSolitary Fibrous Tumor of Nasal Cavity:A Case Report
Introduction: Solitary fibrous tumours (SFTs) of the nose and paranasal sinuses are extremely rare. These were originally described as neoplasms of the pleura originating from spindle cells. It is further sub-classified as a benign type of mesothelial tumour. Its occurrence in many extra pleural sites have been reported earlier, mainly in the liver, parapharyngeal space, sublingual glands, tongu...
متن کاملRole of Immunohistochemistry in the Diagnosis of Solitary Fibrous Tumor, a Review
Background: Solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) is a mesenchymal tumor which is most commonly seen in the pleura; however it can be seen in other organs such as the meninge, gastrointestinal tract, soft tissue, bone, and skin. SFT should be differentiated from other mesenchymal tumors in these organs. Immunohistochemistry plays a pivotal role for the histopathologic diagnosis...
متن کاملMR Imaging of Solitary Fibrous Tumors in the Head and Neck
OBJECTIVE Solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) is a very rare tumor. The purpose of this study is to determine the MR imaging features of SFT in the intracranial and extracranial head and neck regions. MATERIALS AND METHODS We retrospectively reviewed six MR images and two CT images of six histologically proven cases of SFT that occurred in four men and two women, and their ages ranged from 46 to 59 ...
